Pápa and its surroundings
Pápa: Pápa is situated in Western Hungary. It’s about 2 hours’ way from Budapest. Pápa lies at the foot of Bakony Hill. This baroque town is also called as „Athen of Transdanubia”. Its territory has
been inhabited from thousands of years. Its name became famous by its handcraft trade and industry. Many talented people learnt here from all over the country. Its schools made it spiritual centre of the country district.
Castle Garden Bath: Castle Garden Bath is near the city centre. It offers a pleasant environment for relaxing, bathing at a spa, swimming and keeping your body in health. There are 10 swimming pools, 4 giant water-slides and 2 slides for children. It offers active and passive wellness services for visitors.
Pápa and its surroundings is a charming tourist spot. The atmospheric old town and the beauties of Bakony Hill are attractive and they open the door to relaxation and recreation.
The small streets of old town have been preserving the traces of the streets that origins go back to middle ages. The most valuable characteristic features of the town go back to the baroque period. The Principal Square of the town is almost unique because there is not any city centre in the country that has similar perfect harmony.

There are many programs in the town such as: International Game Festival, Historical Games and Agricultural Expo attracting thousands of visitors to the town.
Somló: Somló Hill can be found about 25 kilometres from Pápa. It’s one of the historical Wine-district in Hungary.
The most famous wine of Somló Hill called „the wine of wedding nights”. According to the legend people who drink from this wine at the wedding night means that you have a good chance for having a boy.
In the north part of the hill there are the remains of the old castle. There are also wine tours here providing extensive programs for visitors like tasting wine and the local specialities.
